Person-Centred Counselling with Fiona Lambert

About Fiona

Every person carries a whole story — the experiences that shaped them, the ones still being written, and the parts not yet spoken aloud. My work in person-centred counselling is about creating a space where all of it is welcome, and where you can be met as a whole person rather than a problem to be solved. I'm Fiona,  a Person-Centred Counsellor based in Scotland, and I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.

My background

I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling (with Distinction) and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I'm registered with both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland), and I work to the ethical standards of both bodies. I see clients in person in Aberdeen and offer online  counselling services throughout the UK. I'm committed to ongoing professional development and continue to deepen my training in areas closely connected to my practice.

Why person-centred

What drew me to this way of working ,  and what keeps me here , is its commitment to seeing the whole person, its belief in equality, and its trust in self-directed change. Carl Rogers held something quite radical: that people, given the right conditions, have everything they need within them to grow, heal, and find their own way forward. That belief shapes everything about how I practise.

A particular interest in trauma and the body

I have a particular interest in trauma awareness and how trauma is held in the body, manifesting in many different ways ,  sometimes long after the events themselves. The mind and body aren't separate, and what we've lived through often lives on in how we feel, move, and respond to the world. I bring this awareness gently into our work, at your pace and on your terms.

Life, at its best, is a flowing, changing process in which nothing is fixed

Carl Rogers
